BBC Three Comedy “BOARDERS” Unveils Casting
Boarders, a comedy drama series developed by award-winning writer Daniel Lawrence Taylor (Timewasters) and produced by Studio Lambert (The Nest, Three Girls) and All3Media International for the BBC, has announced its cast.
What is Boarders about
The six-part series chronicles the experiences of five gifted but low-income black students from London’s inner city who gain admission to the prestigious St. Gilbert’s. Our protagonists will leave the comforts of zone 3 for the ups and downs of boarding school, where they will gain insight into who they are and what the world outside the city is like.
Boarders features an ensemble cast of up-and-coming actors, including Sekou Diaby (making his screen debut) and Aruna Jalloh (also making their screen debut), as well as Josh Tedeku (Supacell, A Town Called Malice), Jodie Campbell (Bulletproof, No Return), and Myles Kamwendo (The School for Good and Evil).
Daniel Lawrence Taylor, creator and writer of Boarders, will also make a cameo appearance as Gus, a teacher and role model for the five new students at St. Gilbert’s. Niky Wardley (Queen of Oz, The Catherine Tate Show) will play Chair of the Board Carol Watlington-Geese, and Derek Riddell (Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack) will play Headmaster Bernard.

Who is making the series
Filming is currently taking place in the South West of England. The show is set to be broadcast on BBC Three and iPlayer next year, with global distribution handled by All3Media International.
Boarders (6×45)’ was created by Daniel Lawrence Taylor, who serves as lead writer and was joined in the writing room by Emma Dennis-Edwards, Yemi Oyefuwa and Ryan Calais Cameron. The series is directed by Ethosheia Hylton and Sarmad Masud, with Ali MacPhail serving as producer and Carleen Beadle-Larcombe as line producer. Executive producers are Daniel Lawrence Taylor, Susan Hogg and Maddie Sinclair for Studio Lambert, and Nawfal Faizullah and Ayela Butt for the BBC.
