Blue Bloods, May 10, 2024, CBS, “Two of a Kind”
Police procedural drama “Blue Bloods” returns with its fourteenth season’s ninth episode, “Two of a Kind,” airing on CBS, Friday, May 10, at 10 pm ET/PT.
Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) becomes involved in a series of robberies on Sean’s college campus, one of which Sean falls victim to. Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) suspects an overworked attorney of not serving his client’s best interests, potentially leading to a clash.
Elsewhere, Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and her partner, Badillo, investigate an apartment burglary, contending with tenant suspicions directed at the landlord. Frank (Tom Selleck) struggles with anger upon learning of a physical dispute between Jamie and his grandson, Joe Hill (Will Hochman), in public.
The final season, which premiered on February 16, will be split into two parts. The first half, consisting of 10 episodes, is currently airing, with new episodes released weekly on Fridays at 10/9c. The remaining eight episodes will air later this fall as part of CBS’s 2024 fall lineup, with an exact premiere date yet to be announced.
The conclusion of Blue Bloods marks the end of a chapter for its dedicated fanbase, who have come to know and love the Reagan family and their weekly Sunday dinners. The show has consistently been one of TV’s most-viewed broadcast dramas, with its 14 seasons ranking it among the longest-running CBS scripted series ever.
Despite the show’s popularity, CBS has confirmed that the current season will be its last. This decision comes after a period of negotiation and budget cuts for the show. While the network is looking to refresh its schedule, the move has sparked a fan-led “#SaveBlueBloods” campaign, with even series stars, including Tom Selleck, expressing their desire to continue.
Selleck, who portrays patriarch and police commissioner Frank Reagan, shared his thoughts on the show’s cancellation: “CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye to it. The show’s more popular than ever, and I think [the numbers] will increase with the interest this year. We’re certainly not out of ideas.”
The final season of Blue Bloods promises to bring closure to the Reagan family’s story, with the show’s writers crafting a satisfying conclusion to the character arcs that have captivated audiences for over 13 years.
