Expedition Unknown With Josh Gates Returns Wed November 15 on Discovery
Adventurer and inquisitive mind Josh Gates returns to traverse oceanic depths, navigate Central American wilderness, and explore subterranean passages beneath a fiery volcano, pursuing clarity on some of Earth’s enduring enigmas. The fresh season of “Expedition Unknown” is set to premiere Wednesday, November 15 at 9PM ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.
The initial episodes this season focus on Gates’ exploration in Micronesia as he aids Project Recover in their search for aircraft and servicemen from Operation Hailstone lost during World War II. This venture involves diving operations, technological applications, and analysis of historical data, with a noteworthy discovery marking the mission’s success.
Subsequent episodes will see Gates engage in a variety of expeditions. He will investigate the Bermuda Triangle in relation to a significant underwater gold cache, probe the historic landscape of northern Europe for a Viking king’s tomb and accompanying treasures, decipher an ancient map to pinpoint a lost Maya city, and collaborate with a former FBI agent to track down stolen items once belonging to the criminal pair, Bonnie and Clyde.
“Expedition Unknown” aims to shed light on historical and archaeological mysteries, inviting viewers into both the process and findings of each exploration.
The show is produced by Ping Pong Productions for the Discovery Channel.
