First Lady Jill Biden to Host White House Christmas 2023 Special with Drew and Jonathan Scott on HGTV
HGTV is set to present the highly anticipated “White House Christmas 2023” on Sunday, December 10 at 6 p.m. ET/PT. During this one-hour special, First Lady Jill Biden will guide hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott on a tour of the historic home, showcasing the holiday transformation executed by more than 300 dedicated volunteers and White House Residence staff. The theme, “Magic, Wonder, and Joy” of the Holidays, will be highlighted through an array of decorations, including over 142,425 holiday lights, 98 Christmas trees, 33,892 ornaments, and more.
Viewers can look forward to experiencing every aspect of the festive holiday displays, from the Gold Star Tree honoring fallen service members to the majestic official White House Christmas Tree in the Blue Room. The program will also feature a special installation in the Grand Foyer – Santa’s enchanting red sleigh and his famous reindeer suspended in mid-air.
In addition to observing the stunning decorations, viewers will witness Drew and Jonathan’s involvement in the holiday process as they assist in assembling Advent calendars and decorating the rooftop tree above the East Entrance.
Loren Ruch, Head of Content at HGTV, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s decorations, describing them as “whimsical and magical.” The network encourages families to come together for an extra special viewing experience of the White House adorned for the holidays.
Fans can watch past White House Christmas specials on Max(R) and engage with White House Christmas 2023 on HGTV’s digital platforms and social media channels. The special is produced by Big Fish Entertainment.
