Lifetime is set to premiere a brand new movie titled “Friday Night Sext Scandal” on Saturday, March 16 at 8PM/7c. This original film draws inspiration from real stories and features an ensemble cast including Keana Lyn Bastidas, Anthony Timpano, Tara Nicodemo, and Devyn Nekoda. The movie delves into the disturbing reality of young boys engaging in a harmful practice of seeking out nude photographs of their female classmates.
In “Friday Night Sext Scandal,” we follow the journey of 16-year-old Shawn (Anthony Timpano), a talented football player who earns his spot in the team’s starting lineup. As he becomes part of the inner circle, Shawn discovers that these seemingly elite players are involved in a sinister and secret game unfolding right under their community’s nose. Teenage boys engage in hunting down explicit images of their female classmates with the intention of sharing and trading them on a covert website. On this platform, targeted girls are assigned “bounties,” and compromising images are treated as commodities akin to baseball cards.
However, just as Shawn begins to enjoy his newfound status among his teammates and popularity at school, tragedy strikes when he sustains a serious knee injury that sidelines him for the season. Faced with a loss of identity and desperate to maintain his standing within the team, Shawn succumbs to pressure and participates in this clandestine pursuit without informing his best friend Lauren (Keana Lyn Bastidas) or his strong-willed mother Lucinda (Tara Nicodemo).
When the existence of the website and its collection of explicit photos come to light, Lucinda and other concerned individuals fight against those responsible for holding them accountable. In doing so, they uncover a devastating truth about those involved.
Directed by Gail Harvey from a script penned by Caitlin English based on Reeyaz Habib’s story, “Friday Night Sext Scandal” brings a thought-provoking narrative to the small screen. The film is produced by Neshama Entertainment in association with Wishing Floor Films and MarVista Entertainment, with Danielle von Zerneck serving as executive producer. Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer, and Fernando Szew also contribute as executive producers for MarVista, while Arnie Zipursky, Dayna Zipursky, and Suzanne Berger serve as executive producers for Neshama.
