Lost U-Boats of WWII Premiere (HISTORY Tuesday February 27, 2024)
The HISTORY® Channel is gearing up to premiere the new nonfiction series “Lost U-Boats of WWII,” which follows treasure hunter Darrell Miklos and his team as they search for missing Nazi U-boats believed to be holding billions of dollars in stolen gold, jewels, and art at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea. The six-part series will debut on Tuesday, February 27th at 10PM ET/PT.
At the end of World War II, it is said that the Nazis loaded stolen treasures onto modified U-boats. These vessels allegedly had their torpedoes removed so they could transport valuable items across the Atlantic to South America. While some treasures have been recovered in Europe, a significant portion remains missing.
Darrell Miklos, son of legendary treasure hunter Roger Miklos, has made it his lifelong mission to find these missing U-boats and their priceless cargo. After spotting what he believed to be one of the modified U-boats while diving as a teenager, Darrell has gathered substantial evidence over the years to support his initial sighting. He possesses a chart from 1948 created by a former US Navy pilot that indicates the potential location of seven U-boats near the Dominican Republic.
In “Lost U-Boats of WWII,” viewers will follow Darrell and his team as they embark on an extensive treasure hunt by land and sea. They will interview historians, locals, and dive into the waters around Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic. Along the way, they hope to uncover German WWII-era artifacts and clues that may lead them to locate these missing U-boats.
“Lost U-Boats of WWII” is produced for The HISTORY® Channel by Pilgrim Media Group, a division of Lionsgate’s Alternative Television group. Craig Piligian and Pete DeLasho serve as executive producers for Lionsgate Alternative Television, while Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue, and Max Micallef are executive producers for The HISTORY® Channel.
Tune in to The HISTORY® Channel on February 27th at 10PM ET/PT to join Darrell Miklos and his team on their captivating search for lost U-boats and their hidden treasures.
