Lucy Benjamin’s Lisa Fowler Returns to Eastenders

This summer, Keanu’s life is turned upside down when Lisa Fowler unexpectedly visits Walford with his daughter, Peggy Mitchell.

Why is Lisa coming back

Three years after assisting her daughter’s escape from Walford in early 2020 with ex-boyfriend Phil when Louise became convinced that she was responsible for Keanu’s murder, Lucy Benjamin will reprise her role as troubled Lisa for a brief stint. Since then, the two have been raising Peggy in Portugal, but unbeknownst to Louise, Keanu is still alive thanks to hired assassin Martin Fowler’s phoney death plot that allowed the terrified Taylor to escape.

Now that Lisa is back, it’s not clear what motivated her to find Keanu again, but one thing is certain: trouble always seems to find Lisa.

What does Lucy Benjamin say

Speaking of her return Lucy says “I can’t wait to make my return as Lisa Fowler again after leaving for Spain with Louise and granddaughter Peggy, back in 2019. No doubt, in true Lisa fashion, she will bring with her plenty of drama for many of the characters on the Square, which is why playing her is such a delight.”

The new episodes featuring Lucy will air in the summer of 2023. Her previous appearance on the show was in episodes airing from September 2019 to January 2020.

In 2001’s ‘Who Shot Phil?’ storyline, Lisa Fowler was revealed as the real killer of Phil Mitchell, who was shot and killed on his doorstep.

Lisa married Mark Fowler after her relationship with the Mitchell hardman turned toxic, and she tried to conceal the fact that her daughter Louise was actually Phil’s.
