Lucy Lawless Returns for Season Four of “My Life Is Murder on Acorn TV
The popular crime drama “My Life Is Murder,” starring Lucy Lawless as the fearless investigator Alexa Crowe, is set to return with all-new episodes on Monday, June 17. The show will have a two-episode premiere on Acorn TV and will also co-premiere on BBC America, with two new episodes airing weekly on both platforms.
This fourth season will feature eight new mysteries, each introducing a new world and a diabolical killer that only Alexa Crowe can catch. In this season, Alexa brings her friends and family along on her investigations, including tech guru Madison (Ebony Vagulans), café owner Reuben (Joe Naufahu), her brother Will (Martin Henderson), and Detective Harry (Rawiri Jobe). Of course, Alexa’s cranky cat, Chowder, will also be making an appearance.
The new season promises a range of intriguing cases, from homicidal hairdressers to wicked widows, brutal ballet to deadly soufflés. With Alexa’s determination to revisit her past demons and embrace her future, she is more resolute than ever to unravel the most carefully hidden secrets and solve the most bewildering cases.
“My Life Is Murder” is a joint production between Australia and New Zealand. The first season premiered on Australia’s Network 10 in 2019, while the second season aired on New Zealand’s TVNZ1 in 2021. The show started streaming on Acorn TV in the U.S. in August 2019 and has since become a fan favorite.
The series showcases Alexa Crowe, a retired cop turned private investigator, who can’t seem to stay away from solving crimes. With her old boss regularly seeking her insight on cold cases and a young police data analyst, Madison, eager to learn from her, Alexa finds herself entangled in a slew of mysterious and baffling crimes.
The show has received acclaim for its interesting blend of murder cases, dynamic characters, and humor. It offers a lighthearted and easy watch, with quirky characters and quick one-liners, all set against the stunning backdrop of New Zealand’s picturesque landscapes.
