MGM+ has unveiled additional casting for its upcoming crime thriller series, “Hotel Cocaine,” from executive producers Chris Brancato and Guillermo Navarro. The series, set in the late 1970s Miami cocaine scene, centers on the Mutiny Hotel, a glamorous hotspot for drug dealers, politicians, celebrities, and law enforcement agents.
Joining the previously announced cast of Danny Pino, Michael Chiklis, Mark Feuerstein, and Yul Vazquez are series regulars Tania Watson, Corina Bradley, and Laura Gordon. Watson portrays Marisol, Roman’s girlfriend and de facto stepmother to his daughter Valeria. Bradley plays Valeria, Roman’s 16-year-old daughter, who becomes entangled in her father’s drug-related activities. Gordon portrays Janice Nichols, the head of the Mutiny Girls, a group of fun-loving women who frequent the hotel.
Recurring and guest stars include Mayra Hermosillo, Juan Pablo Raba, Erniel Baez, Nick Barkla, Cale Ambrozic, Camila Valero, Maggie Lacey, John Ventimiglia, and Larry Powell. Hermosillo plays Yolanda, a ruthless Colombian drug smuggler, while Raba portrays Gilberto ‘La Cobra’ Henao, a powerful Colombian drug lord. Baez takes on the role of Ray Dorado, an untrustworthy banker with criminal ties. Barkla plays Congressman Landon, a corrupt civil servant, and Ambrozic portrays his son, Andrew Landon, a potential love interest for Valeria. Valero plays Alejandra, Nestor’s fourth wife, and Lacey portrays Constance, the uptight sister of Burton Greenberg. Ventimiglia and Powell portray Hunter Thompson, a prolific writer, and Rick James, a renowned singer, respectively.
“Hotel Cocaine” is created and executive produced by Chris Brancato, known for his work on “Godfather of Harlem” and “Narcos.” Guillermo Navarro, the acclaimed director of “Pan’s Labyrinth,” serves as an executive producer and directed the pilot episode.
The series is produced by MGM+ Studios in partnership with MGM Television and is set to premiere on June 16, 2024, on MGM+, with new episodes airing weekly until August 4.
