“National Christmas Tree Lighting” Premieres Friday Dec. 15 on CBS
The National Christmas Tree Lighting, the beloved American tradition, will be hosted by country music artist Mickey Guyton and broadcast on CBS on Friday, December 15.
The event, presented by the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, will feature musical performances by Darren Criss, Samara Joy, Ledisi, Reneé Rapp, St. Vincent, Joe Walsh, and Dionne Warwick, who will sing holiday classics.
The official lighting of the National Christmas Tree will take place on Thursday, November 30 at The White House and President’s Park in Washington, D.C. The event will also include performances by the United States Coast Guard’s Guardians Big Band. The National Christmas Tree Lighting has been celebrated since 1923 and continues to be a cherished tradition for families and friends to enjoy during the holiday season.
The CBS special provides an opportunity for people across the country to celebrate this tradition from the comfort of their homes.
The event is produced by White Rose Way Entertainment, with Kristi Foley and Leon Knoles as executive producers and Renato Basile as producer. Knoles will also direct the special.
