New Thriller Series “Code of Silence” Set for ITV

Code of Silence, starring Rose Ayling-Ellis, has been commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama Polly Hill. It’s created and written by Catherine Moulton, and it will be produced by top independent studio Mammoth Screen.

What is Code of Silence about

Alison Woods, a catering worker who is deaf, is introduced to us in Code of Silence. She works two jobs—at the police canteen and a local bar—to help her family, especially her Deaf mother, Julie. Alison is thrust into an exciting new world when DC Ashleigh Francis asks her to lip read the conversations of some dangerous criminals.

The police quickly realised that Alison’s interpretation of the gang’s secret meetings was the key to solving the case. When Alison begins to feel attracted to Liam, one of the prime suspects, her feelings about the case become more nuanced. If things get too close to home, Alison knows it’s time to cut ties with the police because she’s putting herself in danger. Yet Alison just can’t let go…

Rose Ayling-Ellis says

“I am so thrilled to be coming on board for Code of Silence and to get to work with the incredible team at Mammoth Screen. When I first read Catherine Moulton’s script it was obvious that her first-hand experiences and understanding has enabled her to write a truly authentic character and I knew I had to be a part of this project. I am so delighted ITV are as excited as we are to bring this to life and I can’t wait to get to started!”
