“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” – Melissa McBride to Co-Star in Season 2
Melissa McBride’s “Carol Peletier” character, a fan favorite, will return as a series regular in Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, it was announced today at New York Comic Con. McBride played “Carol” for eleven seasons on the original The Walking Dead series, co-starring Norman Reedus, who plays “Daryl Dixon” in the France set spin-off.
McBride’s return to the Walking Dead Universe has been announced just in time for the Season 1 finale airing on AMC and AMC+ this Sunday, October 15 at 9pm ET/PT. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has broken records on AMC+ and AMC, becoming the most watched premiere in the service’s history and on track to become the service’s most watched single series ever. Daryl, along with fellow AMC shows The Walking Dead: Dead City, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, Fear the Walking Dead, and Dark Winds, is a top 15 cable drama for 2023 to date in adults 25-54.
McBride remarked “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!”
Currently in production on Season 2 in France and set to premiere in 2024, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon- The Book of Carol, stars Reedus, McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi andEriq Ebouaney and is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman and Steve Squillante.
Daryl (Reedus) washes up on a French beach in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and he has a hard time understanding how he got there and why. The show follows him as he travels across a devastated but resolute France in search of a way home. However, the relationships he develops along the way make his ultimate goal more difficult to achieve.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, will premiere in February 2024, and the second half of Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth and final season will air on Sunday, October 22 at 9pm ET/8c on AMC and AMC+.
