Six Days of Justice: A Private Nuisance (ITV 24 Apr 1972, with Virginia Stride)

In A Private Nuisance there are two cases to deal with – in the first Leonard Witcher is in the magistrates court accused of being drunk and disorderly, he is claiming that he was simply picking up his glasses. He admits he had drunk a bottle of cider and had just left the pub where the police had been called to deal with an altercation involving a group of men.

In the second Daniel Maynard is accused of assaulting the wife of the owner of a public house (the same public house Witcher was in) after she refused to serve him because he had had too much to drink.

There was an extensive article in the TV Times for the week of original broadcast featuring an interview with Virginia Stride, who plays prosecuting solicitor Miss Carey. The interview focused on how Virginia was moving forward after her marriage breakdown with Main Chance star John Stride. At the time Virginia was living with theatre impresario Bill Kenwright but remained on friendly terms with Stride.
