A Heartwarming Christmas Special in Darrowby: All Creatures Great and Small Tonight on ABC TV
In the spirit of Christmas, the beloved series All Creatures Great and Small is set to return with a heartwarming Series 3 Christmas special. With the world at war, the residents of Darrowby are doing their best to make the most of the holiday season. And while they wait for important news, a young guest brings wonder and cheer to Skeldale House.
One of the highlights of the episode is the arrival of a kitten in need of extra care at Pumphrey Manor. Mrs. Pumphrey, played by Patricia Hodge, excitedly announces the arrival of the little furball. And who better to take care of the adorable creature – James, played by Nicholas Ralph – has a good idea.
Samuel West’s Siegfried is summoned to tend to River, a wounded horse, in the days leading up to a major race. While there, Siegfried makes a significant discovery that Sebright Saunders (Michael Maloney) utilises to get River back in the racecourse. Siegfried, in an act of self-compromise, jeopardises everything he stands for, but his brother Tristan, played by Callum Woodhouse, has other plans.
Mrs. Hall (Anna Madeley) and Gerald (Will Thorp) run into each other at the market while the holiday preparations get underway. She unexpectedly invites him to a Skeldale Christmas party that is still in the planning stages after hearing his news. A guest list and spread are hurriedly put together by Mrs. Hall and the rest of the Skeldale house as time runs out. The important thing is, will Gerald show up and is Mrs. Hall prepared to let her guard down and admit her genuine emotions if he does?
