“Brian, do you consider yourself wealthy?” From the get-go, it’s obvious that famed actor Brian Cox, star of the smash hit TV show Succession, is in for a rough ride throughout this show.

In the first episode, Brian is meeting two women whose lives have been turned upside down by the recent real estate boom in Miami, the playground of the rich.

Former Trump employee Senada makes millions on the sale of each mansion, while Elsa is forced out of her home and into the streets so that high-end condominiums can be built.

Brian is pondering the divisive effects of the widening income gap. This is a deeply individual quest for him.

The entire show will be him recounting his life from poor beginnings to his current position as a highly paid Hollywood actor portraying one of the wealthiest and bloodiest capitalists on television. Getting to the bottom of the complicated relationship between wealth and contentment is his life’s work.

Brian, with his dry sense of humour and insatiable curiosity, works in a soup kitchen in the Bronx, hangs out with supermodels on Miami Beach, and pays a visit to a billionaire in London’s most expensive house.

His direct enquiries and fiery outbursts shed light on a world where the wealthiest 1% control half of all wealth and the safety nett for the poor is being dismantled on both sides of the Atlantic.

One of the most mysterious and misunderstood parts of our daily lives will be explored in this series: money.
