Dance Passion Highlights 2022 airs Sun 20 Feb on 8.00pm

Josie d’Arby and Karim Zeroual present highlights from Dance Passion 2022, a UK-wide celebration of dance in all its forms, from ballet to contemporary to ballroom.

Filmed at five locations across the UK, Dance Passion 2022 features a diversity of performances from established companies and emerging talents who are at the forefront of the British dance scene, together with specially commissioned short dance films.

Highlights include an extract from Birmingham Royal Ballet’s brand new production Don Quixote filmed at the Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry; three innovative films which challenge our perceptions of how dance is captured; a performance by Phoenix Dance inspired by boxing legend Jack Johnson, the first African American heavyweight world champion, recorded at Leeds’ Northern School of Contemporary Dance; Simple Cypher’s exciting fusion of hip hop and circus acrobatics filmed at the Theatre Royal’s TR2 in Plymouth; Cardiff-based National Dance Company Wales performing Ludo; and Ballet Black’s stunning Washa from Sadler’s Wells in London.
