What is this episode about

Rose feels uneasy about meeting Mali’s mother without any notice, but Mali reassures her that her mother will like her. However, when Rose finally meets Vicky (or “Victoria,” as she corrects Mali), there is an instant tension. Elandra points out to Mali that Vicky is happy to meet Rose but upset with Mali for keeping her existence a secret.

Although Vicky warms up to Rose quickly, things become tense when she learns that Rose is a police officer. Both Vicky and Elandra abruptly leave for the car. Mali tries to mediate, but Vicky’s disapproval is evident as she remarks, “Your father would be so disappointed in you.”

Meanwhile, Eden finds Cash drinking while still in uniform at Salt and convinces him to come home. Cash hides his pain as he takes a long shower. Eden, a supportive partner, encourages him to open up, but Cash is not ready and promises to talk in the morning. When Eden wakes up to an empty house and discovers Cash has left his uniform behind, she becomes worried. She meets up with Cash on the beach, and he shares the details of Felicity’s blackmail situation. Eden ultimately tackles the underlying issue of Cash being a police officer and why his sister didn’t trust him. Later, Eden and Cash make plans to go away together, and with her support, Cash may find the strength to overcome his challenges.

John remains concerned about Alf and expresses these concerns to Marilyn. He questions if something is not quite right. Marilyn tests John’s theory by conducting a hearing test for Alf at home. Marilyn is convinced that Alf is fine, but John argues that individuals with hearing loss rely on facial expressions to compensate for what they cannot hear.

Though Marilyn disagrees, John remains steadfast in his belief. When Marilyn tests Alf by covering her face while speaking, it seems that John may be onto something. Will Marilyn be able to persuade Alf to seek help for his hearing?
