What is this episode about
Potter Emily hails from Staffordshire, while Hayley is an upholsterer from Hampshire. They are both hoping that with the support of Dom and his group of mentors, they can make a living doing what they love. After Emily, a people services assistant, was unable to work due to a brain injury and subsequent complications, she found solace in pottery, which offered her hope for a new career path. A mentor named Florian Gadsby recognises Emily’s abilities and finds a way to help her sell so that she can live a better life.
As her husband’s back pain worsens due to his inability to continue working as a plumber, Hayley, an upholstery artist, must expand her business if she is to provide for her family. Her mentor Micaela thinks she should try something more unique if she wants to stand out, but she has all the abilities she needs on her own.
Every maker has eight weeks to implement the suggestions made by their mentors. Will their imaginations be enough to create the successful businesses and fulfilling lives they envision?
