ABC’s State of the Union Coverage, March 7, 2024
ABC News has announced its special coverage of the 2024 State of the Union address by President Joe Biden and the Republican response, set to air on Thursday, March 7 from 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST on ABC and available for streaming on ABC News Live.
Leading the coverage will be David Muir, anchor and managing editor of “World News Tonight,” alongside ABC News’ esteemed political team. This powerhouse team includes Linsey Davis, anchor of “ABC News Live Prime,” Martha Raddatz, chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week,” Jonathan Karl, chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week,” Mary Bruce, chief White House correspondent, Pierre Thomas, chief justice correspondent, Rachel Scott, senior congressional correspondent, Terry Moran, senior national correspondent, Selina Wang, senior White House correspondent, Elizabeth Schulze, Rick Klein (political director), Averi Harper (deputy political director), Jay O’Brien (multiplatform reporter). Analysis across platforms will be provided by contributors Donna Brazile and Reince Priebus.
On Thursday night itself, Muir will helm a special edition of “World News Tonight” broadcasted from Washington D.C., while programs like “Good Morning America,” “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” and “The View” will feature pre- and post-coverage discussions. Additionally, “Nightline” will offer analysis and speak with Americans about their thoughts on the address. The following Sunday’s episode of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” will also provide comprehensive coverage and analysis as President Biden takes his message nationwide.
For those seeking continuous coverage throughout the day leading up to the State of the Union address itself can tune into ABC News Live. At 7:00 p.m. EST. Linsey Davis will host a special edition of “ABC News Live Prime” from Washington D.C., followed by late-night post-speech analysis at 11:00 p.m. EST. Prior to the address, Terry Moran will anchor a 30-minute special at 8:30 p.m. EST.
ABC News Digital will feature a live blog starting from 7:00 p.m. EST on March 7, covering pre-address issues with guest commentary and a detailed breakdown of the speech and Republican response.
ABC News Radio will provide continuous anchored coverage of the State of the Union address beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST, including analysis during two status reports per hour from 8:50 p.m. to midnight. ABC News’ daily podcast “Start Here,” hosted by Brad Mielke, will offer reactions and analysis on Friday, March 8.
