“Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job” Season 2 Set for BBC One
Alan Carr and Amanda Holden, fresh off the success of their “Italian Job,” are preparing to don their boiler suits once more after snagging yet another “One Euro” house, this time in the rolling hills of Tuscany.
The series, which is being produced by Voltage TV for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, will put the duo’s handyman and interior design chops to the ultimate test. They will be working with a group of local craftspeople to restore a crumbling historic mansion with a mediaeval tower.
What is in store for season two
In one of Italy’s most picturesque regions, Alan and Amanda will immerse themselves in the culture of the locals, go on cultural excursions, and dive headfirst into a brand new adventure. As they attempt to bring new life to a previously unexplored corner of Italy, the warmth and humour of their friendship will once again be abundant.
Quotes from Amanda and Alan
Amanda Holden says: “I’m obviously absolutely delighted that Alan and I have been given a second series of a show that we created together. This time I’m considering ditching my nail extensions but I’ll certainly be keeping the lashes! I’ve got the Aperol Spritz on ice and I’m being fitted for a new boiler suit as we speak! I adore Alan and this job suits us both perfectly. The sweetest thing about it all is that we can continue to raise more money for charities that make a huge difference to the lives of so many.”
Alan Carr added: “So excited to be returning to Italy with my good friend Amanda for more blood sweat and tiles. Can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and transform another Euro house. What could possible go wrong?!!”
When the renovation is complete, the home will be put up for auction, and the proceeds will be given to a good cause.
The proceeds from the sale of Casa Alamanda, the home Alan and Amanda renovated in the first season, will be split evenly between Children in Need and Comic Relief. Viewership for the first season was very high. An average of 3.9 million people watched across the eight episodes, with 1.3 million of those tuning in via iPlayer.
