Apple TV+’s PALM ROYALE Will Premiere March 20
Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its upcoming series “Palm Royale,” set in the high society of Palm Beach in 1969. The show stars Kristen Wiig and Academy Award winner Laura Dern, who also serve as executive producers.
The ensemble cast includes Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, and Kaia Gerber. Additionally, the series features special guest star appearances by Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett.
“Palm Royale” is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (played by Wiig) as she tries to break into Palm Beach’s elite society. The show explores the question of how much someone is willing to sacrifice to obtain what others have. Set against the backdrop of 1969, a year filled with societal changes, “Palm Royale” showcases the struggles of outsiders fighting for their chance to belong.
Loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie,” the series is produced by Apple Studios and written, executive produced, and showrun by Abe Sylvia for Aunt Sylvia’s Moving Picture Company. Laura Dern and Jayme Lemons executive produce for Jaywalker Pictures along with Kristen Wiig, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Tate Taylor, John Norris for Wyolah Films, Sharr White, Sheri Holman, and Boat Rocker.
Directed by Tate Taylor, Abe Sylvia, Claire Scanlon, and Stephanie Laing,”Palm Royale” will premiere globally on Wednesday March 20th on Apple TV+. The first three episodes will be available on that day followed by new episodes every Wednesday until May 8th.
