New Documentary “The Beach Boys” Disney+ Premiere May 24
Get ready to ride the waves of nostalgia with an all-new documentary on Disney+. “The Beach Boys” takes viewers on a journey through the legendary band’s rise to fame and their iconic California sound that defined generations.
This celebration of The Beach Boys showcases never-before-seen footage and interviews with the band members themselves, including Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston. Joining them are music industry luminaries like Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was.
Not only will audiences get insight from Carl and Dennis Wilson in their own words, but they’ll also be treated to a new interview with Blondie Chaplin and hear audio from Ricky Fataar. Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny with a script by Mark Monroe, “The Beach Boys” is a Kennedy/Marshall and White Horse Pictures Production.
Behind the scenes, the film boasts an impressive lineup of producers including Frank Marshall, Irving Azoff, Nicholas Ferrall, Jeanne Elfant Festa, Aly Parker. Nigel Sinclair serves as executive producer alongside Mark Monroe Tony Rosenthal, Cassidy Hartmann, Glen Zipper, Thom Zimny, Beth Collins, Jimmy Edwards, Susan Genco, Marc Cimino, Jody Gerson, Bruce Resnikoff, and Ben J.Murphy
For fans eager to relive the magic outside of the documentary itself, there’s also more in store. The official soundtrack for “The Beach Boys,” featuring songs from the film will be available to stream and download starting May 24th. Additionally,on March 29th, the group’s iconic 1964 album “Shut Down Vol.2” will be released on limited edition blue and white marble vinyl.
On April 2nd, “The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys,” their only official book, will hit the shelves courtesy of Genesis Publications.
“The Beach Boys” documentary will exclusively premiere on Disney+ starting May 24th, 2024.
