Football In June
ALL MONTH LONG ACTION-PACKED FOOTBALL
This month’s live football action on Paramount+ is highlighted by a pair of championship games played on the first weekend in June.
The Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final will be played on Saturday, June 3 after 162 games, 12 teams, and eight months of competition. The 2022–23 Isuzu UTE A-League title will come down to the Premiers, Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners.
Then, on the international stage, Manchester United and Manchester City will meet in the Emirates FA Cup Final for the first time ever. The FA Cup is the oldest and most prestigious knockout tournament in the world. Beginning at 11pm AEST, right after the conclusion of the A-League Men’s Final.
Subway Socceroos will face off against FIFA World Cup 2022 champions Argentina in China on Thursday, June 15.
Can the Subway Socceroos get revenge on Messi and Argentina after losing to them in the round of 16 at last year’s World Cup?

We ask, “What can we, as humans, learn from animals about tolerance, acceptance, and diversity?” as we take the audience on a journey to explore the rich diversity of animal sexuality in this vibrant, funny, and eye-opening one-off documentary.
Along the way, we’ll come across some truly unique creatures, witness some truly remarkable behaviour, and chat with a wide range of scientists who are challenging the status quo of gender norms.
iCarly (Season 3)

Adulting remains challenging for Carly and her pals in the upcoming season. The #Creddie couple of Carly and Freddie, Spencer’s search for his roots, and Harper’s unexpected reunion with an old rival all feature prominently this week.
Carly, played by Miranda Cosgrove, is joined by Spencer (Jerry Trainor), Freddie (Nathan Kress), Harper (Laci Mosley), and Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett). iCarly is a Nickelodeon Studios production, with Ali Schouten-Seeks (Young & Hungry, Diary of a Future President) serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside Miranda Cosgrove.
The Simple Life’s Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress, and Alissa Vradenburg are behind the camera.
The original iCarly series on Nickelodeon aired from 2007 to 2012, and it followed a group of best friends as they created a webcast for and about kids their age, all the while dealing with the challenges and adventures of being teenagers.
Nancy Drew (Season 4)
FRIDAY, 2 JUNE / EXCLUSIVE FINAL SEASON / NEW EPISODES WEEKLY
To track down the bodies that have been stolen or unearthed from the Horseshoe Bay cemetery, Nancy launches a new investigation.
A series of unexplained paranormal crimes have Nancy and the Drew Crew convinced that the town’s sins of the past have come back to haunt the living.
Meanwhile, Nancy is having a hard time dealing with her feelings for Ace. But when Nancy develops feelings for the son of Ryan Hudson’s latest enemy, Ace, he must decide whether or not this new love interest is worth risking his relationship with Nancy.
The Drews will be thrust into a mystery unlike any they have faced before thanks to Nancy’s antics, which will bring with it numerous stand-alone cases, stunning twists, humour, and unexpected romances.
When Nancy’s attempts to cleanse her coastal community of its sins have the opposite effect, she is faced with a choice that could cost her everything she holds dear—both in the physical world and the afterlife.
Queen Of The Universe (Season 2)

Graham Norton, winner of five British Academy Television Awards (BAFTAs), hosts Queen of the Universe, a competition between the best drag queens from around the world.
Queens from all over the world, competing for the title of “Queen of the Universe,” will perform original songs for the first time in front of a live audience and the Pop Diva Panel of judges in each episode. Judges Michelle Visage (platinum selling artist, three-time Emmy winning producer, and judge of RuPaul’s Drag Race), Vanessa Williams (multiple Emmy and GRAMMY® nominee), and Trixie Mattel (American drag superstar) are all back for season seven, and this time they’re joined by global superstar Mel B.
Season 2 of Queen Of The Universe features performers from all over the world, including Australian Trevor Ashley, Italian Aura Eternal, Brazilian Chloe V, American Jazell Royale, Dutch Love Masisi, Filipino Maxie, Israeli Miss Sistrata, Mexican TaigaBrava, and English Viola.
Joe Pickett (Season 2)
MONDAY, 5 JUNE / EXCLUSIVE NEW SEASON / NEW EPISODES WEEKLY
Joe Pickett (Michael Dorman), a Wyoming game warden, finds a hunter’s body in the mountains and realises it’s just the latest in a string of brutal killings.
Joe has to deal with a radical anti-hunting activist, a pair of ghoulish twins who live off the grid, and his own troubled past in order to solve the case and apprehend the killer. It turns out Joe and Marybeth’s (Julianna Guill) slain coworkers weren’t as innocent as they first appeared. But when they delve too deeply, they must flee and fight for survival.
The directors, showrunners, and executive producers of Joe Pickett are John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle (Waco). Red Waggon Entertainment’s executive producers are Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher. C.J. Box, author of the eponymous New York Times bestseller, also serves as the show’s executive producer.
Der Scheich (The Sheikh)
THURSDAY, 8 JUNE / EXCLUSIVE NEW SERIES
The Sheikh is based on real events and tells the tale of a master con man.

With Roe v. Wade, voting rights, and Cold War aggressions all returning for the sixth and final season of The Good Fight, Diane starts to wonder if she’s going crazy.
Meanwhile, Reddick & Associates’ attorneys worry that the rising level of violence could spark a civil war.
The 76th Annual Tony Awards
MONDAY, 12 JUNE / SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Paramount+ subscribers will be able to watch the 76th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by Ariana DeBose at New York’s United Palace, whenever they like.
The prestigious Tony Awards are making their debut at the venerable United Palace.
In 1930, the United Palace first opened to the public as one of five Loew’s “Wonder Theatres,” which were upscale movie theatres and vaudeville venues spread across the five boroughs and New Jersey. The United Palace is the fourth largest theatre in Manhattan and regularly plays host to concerts, film premieres, and other events.
The nonprofit Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance calls the United Palace home, and it serves the Washington Heights community by showcasing the work of local artists, including many students.
The Betoota Advocate Presents
WEDNESDAY, 14 JUNE / EXCLUSIVE LIMITED SERIES
The Betoota Advocate is a household name on all social media platforms, so it makes sense that Paramount+ would commision an Australian original series called The Betoota Advocate Presents to report on the country’s most divisive news stories.
Episode 1, The Hillsong Story airs Wednesday, 14 June.
Episode 2, Super League airs Wednesday, 21 June.
Episode 3, Cronulla Riots airs Wednesday, 28 June.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Season 2)

Captain Christopher Pike’s tenure as U.S.S. Enterprise captain is the inspiration for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise faces graver threats this season as they venture into uncharted territory and make contact with alien civilisations. The crew members’ individual journeys will also pose new challenges and force them to rethink their goals. The crew will encounter both new and old foes, and their adventures will develop in ways never before seen in a Star Trek show.
Anson Mount plays Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn plays Number One, Ethan Peck plays Science Officer Spock, Jess Bush plays Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong plays La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding portrays Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia portrays Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun plays Dr. M’Benga. Paul Wesley reprises his role as James T. Kirk in the second season, and newcomer Carol Kane joins the cast in a recurring role as Pelia.

Summer Days, Summer Nights
TUESDAY, 20 JUNE / NEW DRAMA
Long Island, in the summer of 1982. When JJ first meets Debbie, he is working for his father. Frankie finds a way to get in touch with an old flame. The young men are forced to accept the end of summer as the temperature drops along with their relationships.
Edward Burns penned the script, directed the film, and also served as the film’s producer for the American comedy-drama Summer Days, Summer Nights. Among the featured actors and actresses are Pico Alexander, Burns, Zoe Levin, Susan Misner, Lindsey Morgan, Anthony Ramos, Jon Rudnitsky, Amadeus Serafini, Caitlin Stasey, and Rita Volk.
Dead Hot: Season Of The Witch
THURSDAY, 22 JUNE / EXCLUSIVE NEW DOCUMENTARY
This provocative documentary follows Vanessa Hudgens (an actress) and GG Magree (a musician from Australia) as they venture together into the paranormal world.
They have been experimenting with and connecting with the spirit world as self-taught students of witchcraft, intuitives, and empaths. They’ve started to expose the underlying connections between the worlds of the living and the dead, the shadows and the light, and the good and the bad.

Bruce Springsteen – Documentaries
WEDNESDAY, 28 JUNE / NEW MUSIC DOCUMENTARY
Wings For Wheels: The Making of Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen is the definitive account of the creation of Bruce Springsteen’s groundbreaking album, Born to Run. Contains footage shot between 1973 and 1975 that was never broadcast.
The first ever major televised Bruce Springsteen concert is captured on the concert film Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: Live In New York City. It was also made available as a CD and DVD with eleven bonus songs that had not been shown on television.
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concert is a live album and concert film. The No Nukes concerts, organised by the activist group Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE), were recorded over the course of two nights, September 21 and 22, 1979, at Madison Square Garden in protest of nuclear power.
