Paramount+ Picks Up “SkyMed” For Season 3
Paramount+ has picked up SKYMED for a third season, focusing on the daring exploits of medics and pilots operating air ambulances in the wilderness of Northern Canada. Produced by Piazza Entertainment, filming for the new nine-episode season kicks off on Monday, March 25 in Manitoba and Ontario, with the original ensemble cast set to return for more high-flying rescues up to 20,000 feet in the air. The upcoming season will be accessible exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and internationally, except in Canada where it will air on CBC.
The new season of SKYMED delves into the aftermath of the thrilling season two finale, where internal pressures within the close-knit SkyMed team, coupled with a sudden medical crisis for one of their own, threaten to divide the group. With fresh challenges in the form of perilous missions and the arrival of new faces stirring up dynamics in the crew house, the medical responders must lean on one another like never before to navigate intense rescues, budding romances, and tough farewells in the line of duty.
Among the returning cast members are Natasha Calis as Hayley, Morgan Holmstrom as Crystal, Praneet Akilla as Chopper, Mercedes Morris as Lexi, Thomas Elms as Nowak, Kheon Clarke as Tristan, and Sydney Kuhne as Stef. Aaron Ashmore joins the regular cast this season as Wheezer. Additionally, recurring roles are filled by Aason Nadjiwon as Bodie and Emilia McCarthy as Madison, with Braeden Clarke set to guest star as Jeremy.
New additions to the cast include Anthony Grant as TJ, a charismatic pilot with hidden burdens, and Nicola Correia-Damude as Marianne, a city dweller struggling to acclimate to the wild north despite her undeniable chemistry with Chopper.
The series SKYMED, developed by Julie Puckrin and based on the experiences of her family members who worked in air ambulance services, is a collaborative effort by Piazza Entertainment, CBC, and CBS Studios. Puckrin, alongside Gillian Hormel and Vanessa Piazza, serves as executive producer. Production is led by Rhonda Baker and Carrie Wilkins in Manitoba, while internationally, Paramount Global Content Distribution handles distribution for SKYMED.
