“Prime Target” Starring Leo Woodall New for Apple TV+
Apple TV+ has just confirmed a series order for what sounds like an exciting new conspiracy thriller called “Prime Target,” starring Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell. The one-hour drama, created by writer Steve Thompson, will consist of eight episodes and is produced by New Regency in partnership with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free.
“Prime Target” follows Edward Brooks, a brilliant young math post-graduate played by Woodall, who is on the brink of a groundbreaking discovery. If he can find a pattern in prime numbers, he will unlock the key to every computer in the world. However, as Edward nears his breakthrough, he becomes aware of an unseen adversary who aims to destroy his idea before it even comes to light. This sets him on a collision course with Taylah Sanders, an NSA agent portrayed by Swindell, whose mission is to monitor and report on the behavior of mathematicians. Together, they unravel the troubling conspiracy at the center of Edward’s work.
The cast of “Prime Target” features an impressive lineup of talent, including Academy Award nominee Stephen Rea, BAFTA Award nominee David Morrissey, Emmy Award winner Martha Plimpton, BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Sidse Babbett Knudsen, SAG Award nominee Jason Flemyng, BAFTA Award nominee Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell.
The series boasts an experienced creative team, with director Brady Hood at the helm of all eight episodes. Hood, known for his work on “Top Boy” and “Great Expectations,” also serves as an executive producer. Meanwhile, Ed Rubin takes on the role of executive producer for New Regency, alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, and Michael Schaefer. Marina Brackenbury serves as executive producer for Scott Free, along with David W. Zucker and Ridley Scott. Additionally, Laura Hastings-Smith acts as series producer while also serving as an executive producer.
