Sarah Silverman to Host ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’ on TBS: A Nostalgic and Hilarious Homage to David Letterman’s Iconic Segment”
TBS is set to debut a new series, “Stupid Pet Tricks,” hosted by comedian and actress Sarah Silverman. The show, airing with a special multi-network sneak peek across TBS, Discovery, truTV, and Animal Planet, will reimagine the iconic segment from “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Combining the original charm, silly fun, and appreciation for the bond between humans and their animal friends, the half-hour variety show is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, February 11, followed by new episodes airing on TBS every Monday beginning February 12.
Infused with Sarah Silverman’s unique comedic spin, each episode will showcase a delightful parade of pets demonstrating ridiculous and extraordinary tricks. The show will feature an array of stars, including Jon Hamm, Will Ferrell, Judd Apatow, Howie Mandel, Jack McBrayer, Charlotte McKinney, Reggie Watts, Jeff Ross, and even the iconic David Letterman himself, along with their pets, engaging in comedic bits and games.
Sarah Silverman expressed her enthusiasm for the show, stating, “When cuddly animals are involved, count me in…. I’m talking about Dave.”
The series is praised by Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, as a natural fit for TBS’ esteemed comedy lineup, with Sarah Silverman’s comedic mastery paying homage to the celebrated segment from “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
In a unique and interactive twist, viewers will have the opportunity to feature their own pets on-air each week by sharing a video of their pet’s trick using the hashtag #MyStupidPetTrick. Additionally, TBS will embark on The Stupid Pet Tricks Tour, presented by Ollie, providing a platform for pet owners to showcase their talented furry companions and celebrate the fun and bond shared with their pets.
“Stupid Pet Tricks” is set to be executive produced by Jay Blumenfield and Tony Marsh of The Jay & Tony Show, with Worldwide Pants, Incorporated, for TBS. David Letterman, Sarah Silverman, and Amy Zvi are also executive producers, with consulting producer Merrill Markoe, the original creator of the segment. The show promises to bring laughter and heartwarming moments as it pays homage to the beloved and iconic entertainment legacy of David Letterman.
