BBC Three Announces New Documentary ‘What’s Really in Your Vape?’ Fronted by Jordan North

BBC Three has unveiled an upcoming documentary titled “What’s Really in Your Vape?” (w/t), produced by Northern Child. The film will mark BBC Radio 1 presenter Jordan North’s first venture into documentary-making, as he aims to delve into the UK’s burgeoning vaping culture and uncover the truth behind the vape phenomenon.

With the escalating number of young people embracing vaping and annual UK sales exceeding £1.3 billion, the documentary seeks to address critical questions about the contents of vapes, their production, the chemicals involved, and the legality surrounding their sale. As a vaper himself, Jordan North is driven to uncover the composition of vapes, the level of nicotine present, and the potential risks associated with both legal and illegal vaping products.

The documentary promises to offer an informative exploration, featuring interactions with scientists conducting groundbreaking testing on vapes, as well as researchers analyzing the potential long-term effects of vaping. Furthermore, the film is set to investigate the prevalence of illegal vapes in the UK, delving into the market scale, sources, sellers, and the associated risks.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Jordan shared, “I’ve always wanted to make a documentary and I’m really interested in this subject, as a vaper myself I’m desperate to know what’s inside my vape!” The film is set to air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in early 2024.

“What’s Really in Your Vape?” (1 x 30) is produced by Northern Child Production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, with Andrew Eastel serving as the Executive Producer, Katie Elliott as the Producer, and Simon Rawles as the Director. The film is commissioned by Mark Harrison for Current Affairs at the BBC.
