Season Three of “The Great” Gets Australian Premiere 13 May on Stan
Season three of “The Great,” starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult and written by Tony McNamara, to premiere exclusively in Australia on Stan on 13 May.
The third season of “The Great” boasts 10 episodes and follows the journey of Catherine (played by Elle Fanning) and Peter (played by Nicholas Hoult) as they attempt to reconcile their marriage after facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Peter, who has witnessed Catherine’s attempt to murder him, and imprisonment of his friends, struggles as First Husband to Catherine’s reign. He then busies himself with fathering, hunting, and culinary ventures, which aren’t enough to keep him contented as visions of his late father (played by Jason Isaacs) haunt him as Peter the Great’s disappointing son. Meanwhile, Catherine, inspired by the US ambassador, starts making a name for herself beyond her borders.
The third season features an ensemble cast including Belinda Bromilow, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, and Bayo Gbadamosi.
The Great is created, written and executive produced by Tony McNamara (The Favourite, Cruella) and executive produced by Marian Macgowan, Mark Winemaker, Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Echo Lake’s Brittany Kahan Ward, Doug Mankoff and Andrew Spaulding, Thruline’s Ron West and Josh Kesselman. The project is produced by Civic Center Media in association with MRC Television.
All episodes of “The Great” seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Stan, with season three premiering exclusively in Australia on the platform on 13 May 2023.
