Part of the True Crime series on Channel 4, Night Coppers returns for its second season. The show takes us into the heart of Brighton, known as the UK’s best city for a night out. As thousands of partygoers flood the clubs and pubs every weekend, trouble inevitably follows in this hedonistic seaside resort after dark.
Night Coppers offers viewers a glimpse into the challenging world of policing during the night shift. With actual footage from CCTV and police body cameras, we are brought face-to-face with the officers who work tirelessly from dusk till dawn. Their duties range from handling bloody brawls and drunk drivers to dealing with drug-fuelled disorder and domestic disputes.
In this brand new episode, we meet some intriguing new cops alongside familiar faces. Adrenaline-seeking officers Dakota and Dan find themselves attending to an overzealous Brighton football fan who has been knocked out on the street. Best friends Annie and Jack face a midnight cardio workout when they chase down a man accused of assault on foot. And solo officer Emily is tasked with tracking down a group of fighting youths.
Night Coppers goes beyond just showing us the action-packed encounters these officers face each night; it also delves into how this demanding job can take its toll on their personal lives. We witness firsthand how humor often becomes their coping mechanism in order to get through those long nights.
