“Tehran” Season 3 Renewal From Apple TV+, Hugh Laurie Joins Cast

In addition to renewing its International Emmy Award-winning global espionage thriller “Tehran” for a third season, Apple TV+ have also announced that Hugh Laurie (“House, M.D.,” “The Night Manager,” “Roadkill”) will be joining the ensemble cast. Season three of “Tehran,” which was developed by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, and Maor Kohn and is being directed by Daniel Syrkin, has officially begun filming.

The second season of “Tehran,” which made its worldwide debut on Apple TV+ last summer and starred Glenn Close, has been praised as “nail-biting,” “thrilling,” and “one of the most suspenseful Israeli shows ever filmed.” Hugh Laurie will join the cast of the third season of “Tehran” as the South African nuclear inspector Eric Peterson. Niv Sultan, who received much attention for her portrayal of Mossad spy Tamar Rabinyan, will be joining Laurie in the cast. Shaun Toub and Shila Ommi will also be back, and new cast members Sasson Gabai, Bahar Pars, and Phoenix Raei will round out the ensemble.

The plot of “Tehran” revolves around Tamar (Niv Sultan), a Mossad hacker-agent who goes undercover in Iran’s capital city. In season three, Tamar must find a way to reinvent herself and earn back the confidence of the Mossad after she went rogue at the end of season two and lost her closest associates.

Both seasons of ‘Tehran’ may be viewed worldwide on Apple TV+ right now.

“Tehran” is created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, and Maor Kohn, and directed by Daniel Syrkin, who also serves as co-creator.
