“Houses with History” Premieres This March on HGTV
HGTV’s Houses with History will premiere on Tuesday, March 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Houses with History, a new series on HGTV, will explore the rich histories of some of the nation’s oldest dwellings. Mike Lemieux, a history buff and home preservationist, will work with Rich Soares, a carpenter, and Jen Macdonald, a designer, in each episode to restore centuries-old houses in and around Plymouth, Massachusetts. At each stop, they will tell the exciting histories of the houses and their recent makeovers.
The original potting shed on the estate of Henry Huttleston Rogers will be the focus of the first episode, which will show the reconstruction and restoration of a historic home from the 1800s in Fairhaven. The original oil tycoon owner was friends with John D. Rockefeller, a benefactor to Helen Keller, and a friend of Mark Twain, therefore the property has a colorful history connected to him. The new homeowners plan to save the home’s wonderful character, such as the original hand-carved woodwork and the unusual windows, but have tasked Mike, Rich, and Jen with updating the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom with modern utility and style.
Houses with History is produced by High Noon Entertainment.
