Family Drama Series “The Baxters” Heading to Prime Video

Prime Video has made an exciting acquisition with the family drama series The Baxters, produced by LightWorkers Media. Starring and executive produced by Roma Downey, who is known for her work as an actress, producer, and New York Times best-selling author, The Baxters promises to captivate audiences worldwide. Ted McGinley also stars alongside Downey as John Baxter.

Based on Karen Kingsbury’s immensely popular book series of the same name, The Baxters delves into the lives of Elizabeth and John Baxter along with their five adult children. Season One revolves around Kari Baxter Jacobs (portrayed by Ali Cobrin), daughter of Elizabeth and John. After discovering that her husband Tim (played by Brandon Hirsch) has been having a secret affair with one of his college students, Kari is forced to confront turmoil within her marriage. As she navigates this trying period in her life, Kari seeks solace in both her faith and support from her family while questioning if love is indeed a choice worth fighting for.

Intriguingly exploring themes rooted in faith-based journeys while highlighting poignant moments throughout a deeply moving narrative about redemption and familial bonds—The Baxters presents challenges that demand unity among its characters.

Joining Downey in front of the camera are several talented actors including Masey McLain as Ashley Baxter; Josh Plasse playing Luke Baxter; Cassidy Gifford portraying Reagan Decker; Reilly Anspaugh filling the role of Erin Baxter; Emily Peterson starring as Brooke Baxter; and Brandon Hirsch completing the cast lineup as Tim Jacobs—all bringing their unique talents to breathe life into the Baxter family dynamic.

Prime Video plans to release The Baxters exclusively on its platform during spring 2024 for streaming audiences across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
