According to sources, the renewal for a seventh season is being finalized, with a short order of around six episodes expected to wrap up the story. This would be a significant reduction from the 13 episodes of the current season, which was already a decrease from the 22 episodes of season 5.

Executive producer Bruce Helford has confirmed that the season 6 finale was crafted with the possibility of it being a series finale in mind, stating: “We’ve got a final episode that may be one or the other. We love it… It will be unexpected, and it will be emotional.”

The main cast, including John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, and Lecy Goranson, is expected to return for this potential final season.
