One off biographical drama Daphne told the life story of author Daphne Du Maurier (Geraldine Somerville), celebrating the centenary of her birth. The drama focused on her relationships with American heiress, Ellen Doubleday (Elizabeth McGovern), and her life-changing love affair with the fun loving actress Gertrude Lawrence (Janet McTeer).
