In period drama He Knew He Was Right, based on the novel by Anthony Trollope, Louis (Oliver Dimsdale) and Emily Trevelyan (Laura Fraser) seem to have a perfect marriage until he starts believing she is having an affair with her godfather, Colonel Osborne (Bill Nighy) – a regular caller to their home.
Louis forces a separation but keeps tabs on her from afar by employing the services of a private detective who has a tendency to misinterpret innocent key events which only fuels Louis’ suspicions.
