ITV drama Island at War was set on the fictional Channel Island of St Gregory during the early part of the Second World War.
Following a British troop withdrawal the defenceless island is occupied by German troops and the islanders who remain find themselves under the control of Baron Von Rheingarten (Philip Glenister) facing personal tragedies and dilemmas as they come to terms with their new situation. James (James Wilby) and Felicity Dorr (Clare Holman) were the most prominent of the locals .
ITV had tackled the subject before in the much better and more successful late 1970’s drama Enemy at the Door.
