The Lost Prince (BBC Drama, Miranda Richardson, Gina McKee)

The Lost Prince, written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff, told the true story of Prince John (Matthew Thomas), history’s forgotten prince – the brother of the Queen’s (Miranda Richardson) father. In the early part of the 20th Century against a backdrop of significant world events the story is told of young Johnnie who suffered from epilepsy and was kept away from the world at large lest he fit in public and show signs of madness in the Royal family.

He was effectively exiled to live at Sandringham with his devoted nanny, Lalla (Gina McKee) and died in his teenage years.
