Vital Signs (ITV Drama, Tamzin Outhwaite, Steven Waddington)
In drama series Vital Signs Tamzin Outhwaite stars as a busy mum with a burning ambition to change her life.
Tamzin plays Rhoda Bradley, a supermarket check out assistant with three children and a hectic home life. Frustrated by her job, Rhoda feels she is sitting on a long, slow conveyor belt watching the world go by. She’s desperate to jump off, and do something worthwhile with her life before it’s too late. An emergency dash to hospital with her daughter leads Rhoda to make the life-changing move she has been looking for. After talking to a mature medical student attending her daughter, Rhoda realises she wants to train to be a doctor.
Steven Waddington stars as Rhoda’s husband Tony, who fears her dramatic decision will rock their happy family life. Beth Goddard plays Rhoda’s sister Maddy, a hospital nurse. Maddy has always been jealous of Rhoda, and is furious with her for trying to upstage her by training to be a doctor.
