New Scotland Yard: For All Their Faults (ITV 4 May 1974)

Classic murder mystery in For All Their Faults which focuses on the investigation in to the murder of a teenage girl found dead on Hampstead Heath. Middle aged businessman Herbert Morris identified by a witness and Clay and Dexter subject him to an intense interrogation. Clay is unconvinced of Morris’s guilt but Dexter is convinced otherwise.

This was Ray Lonnen’s third appearance in the series, he was a villain in season 2 episode Prove It and a shady barman in season three finale Pier. Here is on the right side of the law as Detective Inspector Hall.

Quite a small cast for this one but quite a few of them familiar faces, including John Alkin, the already mentioned Lonnen and William Lucas best known for his role in The Adventures of Black Beauty. It’s another strong script too from Tony Hoare.
