7Plus to air NZ Soap “Shortland Street” from 3 July

Long running New Zealand soap Shortland Street will return to Australian screens this July. Having previously finished airing on SBS Viceland in February the series will pick up again on 3 July with the continuation of a tense cliff-hanger that saw the hospital engulfed in flames.

The series, which has notched up over 7000 episodes, has now been on air for 31 years and still averages audiences of 1.5 million New Zealand viewers a week.

The deal was put together by South Pacific Pictures, All3 Media and 7Plus’s Head of Acquisitions, Andrew Green who said “7plus is the proud home of Australia’s #1 drama and we’re delighted to welcome New Zealand’s #1 drama to the family. Shorty’s Aussie fans have waited long enough!”

Shortland Street will air weekdays at 3.00pm on 7Plus from Monday 3 July, 2023.
