Alone Australia, 17 April 2024, SBS, “Season 2 Episode 4”
The unforgiving New Zealand wilderness continues to challenge the remaining contestants in Alone Australia, as they grapple with the harsh realities of survival. With food sources dwindling and the elements pushing them to their limits, the participants will need to dig deep and rely on their instincts to endure.
In this fourth episode, airing on SBS on Wednesday 17 April, the group faces new obstacles as they navigate the freezing temperatures and rugged terrain. With the threat of hunger looming, some contestants struggle to trust their own judgement when it comes to finding sustenance. The isolation also takes its toll, as the lack of human interaction starts to affect their mental fortitude.
The Ten contestants taking part are
Rick: A 58-year-old survival educator and former SAS soldier from Queensland.
Chace: A 27-year-old Defence Force combat engineer and big game hunter from Queensland.
Jack: A tradesman and wild game hunter from New South Wales.
Jason: A youth worker and Jungai from New South Wales.
Krzysztof: A 39-year-old aquaculturalist from Victoria.
Leanne: A 41-year-old World Heritage Aboriginal Programs Officer from Victoria. She is the wife of season one contestant Rob. (Leanne tapped out after four days)
Mike: A 60-year-old resilience coach and former rugby player from New South Wales. (Mike tapped out after the first night after suffering a medical emergency)
Andreas: A 42-year-old personal trainer and subsistence hunter from New South Wales.
Suzan: A 54-year-old wilderness adventure guide from Victoria.
Tamika: A 51-year-old off-grider and former police officer from Queensland.
Last week’s episode ended with the classic shot of the “tap out” boat heading to one of the contestants so somebody will no doubt be leaving in episode four.
Alone Australia captures the raw and unfiltered struggles of these survivalists, offering a unique perspective on human resilience and our innate drive to persevere.
Alone Australia Season 2 Episode 4 airs on SBS at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, 17 April 2024.
