BBC’s “Eastenders” Thomas Law to Return as Peter Beale
BBC’s “Eastenders” Thomas Law to Return as Peter Beale.
Peter Beale, after his unexpected return in tonight’s special episode, will return to Walford later this summer with his parents Ian and Cindy, the character is to be played once again by Thomas Law (who last played the role in 2010).
Who is Peter Beale and why is he returning
Peter is the eldest surviving son of EastEnders’ longest-running character, Ian (Adam Woodyatt), and the legendary Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), cementing his place in Walford lore. He and his twin sister Lucy made their television debut in 1993; Thomas Law portrayed him from 2006 to 2010.
A younger brother, Bobby (Clay Milner Russell), was convicted of his sister’s murder in the gripping 2014 episode “Who Killed Lucy Beale.”
After Peter settled his grandmother Kathy’s business affairs in 2022, he moved out of Albert Square and went to France with his estranged mother Cindy. Viewers will have to tune in to find out how and why the Beale family has reunited, but it’s safe to say that his return will be far from smooth sailing, what with old wounds to mend and parents who have made enemies of themselves with most of the residents of Walford.
Thomas Law says
On reprising the role, Thomas Law says: “Over the years, I had hoped for a return to the Square although I never thought it would happen so it’s an absolute delight to be back in Walford as Peter Beale. It’s been great to see familiar and new faces, and I can’t wait to explore the character again in the wake of Cindy’s return – it’s an exciting time to return!”
Peter Beale, who first arrived in Walford in 1993, has been played by 7 different actors over the years including Francis Brittin-Snell (1993 – 1996), Alex Stevens (1997 – 1998), Joseph Shade (1998 – 2004), James Martin (2004 – 2006), Thomas Law (2006 – 2010), Ben Hardy (2013 – 2015) and Dayle Hudson (2020 – 2022).
