BBC Orders “We Might Regret This” An Original Comedy from Kyla Harris & Lee Getty.
We Might Regret This is a new comedy drama from BBC and Roughcut TV, the makers of Big Boys, People Just Do Nothing, and Stath Lets Flats. It’s inspired by the real-life experiences of its creators, Kyla Harris and Lee Getty.
What is We Might Regret This about
The series follows Freya (Kyla Harris), a Canadian artist in her thirties who is tetraplegic, as she navigates a new relationship, an impending blended family, and an intense female friendship. She’s followed Abe (Darren Boyd), a stalwart lawyer in his 50s who believes he’s not too old to change, to London. Theirs is a lightning-fast romance, with Freya being invited to move in with Abe.
Personal assistants (PAs) are always present in the household because of Freya’s disability, adding a third party to every intimate moment and family spat. Freya invites her erratic and impulsive best friend Jo (Elena Saurel) to fill the role after she has trouble finding the right person for the job. What could go wrong?
What does Kyla and Lee say
Co-Creators Kyla Harris and Lee Getty says: “We are thrilled that Roughcut TV, the BBC and Village Roadshow Television feel that our messiest and most joyous lived experiences of friendship, love and disability can amuse audiences. And here we just thought they were bad decisions.”
