BBC’s “The Jetty” Further Casting Announcements

“The Jetty,” a new four-part crime drama set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, has recently expanded its cast. Jenna Coleman, known for roles in “Doctor Who” and “The Serpent,” leads the show developed by writer Cat Jones and production company Firebird Pictures.

Joining Coleman is Archie Renaux, along with Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, and Amelia Bullmore. Additionally, Ruby Stokes, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Weruche Opia have also joined the cast The ensemble also includes Matthew McNulty, Ralph Ineson, David Ajala, Nina Barker-Francis, Miya Ocego, Elliot Cowan, Shannon Watson, Arthur Hughes, and Dominic Coleman.

The narrative centers around Detective Ember Manning who investigates a fire incident at a holiday residence in Lancashire. The plot intertwines with a podcast journalist’s exploration of a cold case regarding a missing person and a complex relationship involving a young man and two minors.

The series delves into themes of moral complexity regarding sex, the quest for identity, and the nature of memory within a community still grappling with the effects of the Me Too movement.

“The Jetty,” a four parter, is a product of Firebird Pictures. The series is penned and created by Cat Jones, with Marialy Rivas directing. The executive production team includes Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Sarah Wyatt, Cat Jones, Marialy Rivas, Jenna Coleman, and BBC’s Jo McClellan. BBC Studios holds the responsibility for international distribution.
