Top Gear Australia Set to Premiere on Paramount+ on 17 May

“Top Gear Australia” is set to make its return to screens on May 17, 2024, on Paramount+. The eight-part series will introduce a new trio of hosts: Blair Joscelyne, Beau Ryan, and Jonathan LaPaglia. Joscelyne, known as “Moog” from the popular YouTube channel Mighty Car Mods, will lend his automotive expertise, while Ryan, a former NRL player, and LaPaglia, the familiar face from “Australian Survivor,” will complete the dynamic trio.

The original “Top Gear Australia” aired from 2008 to 2012, with its first two seasons on SBS and the latter two on Channel Nine. The show underwent several host changes, starting with Warren Brown, Charlie Cox, and Steve Pizzati in the first season, then adding James Morrison in the second. Shane Jacobson and Ewen Page joined Pizzati in the third season, while the fourth season saw Jacobson and Page hosting alongside Pizzati once again.

The new iteration of “Top Gear Australia” promises to deliver the signature high-octane antics and automotive adventures that fans know and love, but with an Aussie twist. The hosts will take viewers on a journey across the globe, from the winding roads of the French Alps to the glamorous coastline of St. Tropez and the rugged terrain of Colombia’s jungle.

The announcement of the new hosts has been well-received, with Joscelyne’s automotive expertise and Ryan and LaPaglia’s dynamic personalities expected to create an entertaining dynamic. Joscelyne, in particular, has built a strong following through Mighty Car Mods, with nearly 4 million subscribers and over 900 million views.

The series is produced by BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand, and it promises to showcase everything from heart-pounding races to in-depth reviews of the latest automotive marvels.
