Úrsula Corberó Joins Sky & Peacock Thriller “The Day of the Jackal”
Sky and Peacock have announced new additions to the cast of the upcoming original series, The Day of the Jackal. Starring Eddie Redmayne as The Jackal and Lashana Lynch as MI6 agent Bianca, the contemporary reimagining of the iconic thriller has added Úrsula Corberó from La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) in the role of Nuria. Other notable cast members include Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, and Sule Rimi.
Based on Frederick Forsyth’s novel and the award-winning 1973 film adaptation by Universal Pictures, The Day of the Jackal is a 10-part series produced by Carnival Films. Ronan Bennett, creator of Top Boy, serves as writer and adapter for the series. Acclaimed director Brian Kirk leads as the primary director.
The project highlights collaboration between Comcast Group entities such as Universal Studio Group, Sky Studios, and Peacock. With international sales managed by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, The Day of the Jackal is set to premiere in 2024 on Peacock in the US and on Sky across various European markets.
This series joins an exciting lineup of original and exclusive titles coming soon to Sky in 2024. Showcasing powerful stories with compelling characters that spark conversations nationwide, viewers can anticipate an impressive range of content this year.
