Little White Lies (BBC-1 1998, Tara Fitzgerald, Cherie Lunghi)
Beth (Tara Fitzgerald) is a young woman whose life is turned upside down when her husband dies in a car crash. Unsure whether it was an accident or suicide, she seeks help from her solicitor and friend, Oliver (Peter Bowles,) and his wife Julia (Cherie Lunghi). But as events unfold, nothing is quite as it appears in this BBC America Murder Most English movie premiere.
Beth discovers some shocking secrets. Was David about to leave her for Julia? And at the time of the car crash, was he on his way to France to join Julia and her daughter? Why had David secretly remortgaged their house with the help of Julia’s husband, Oliver? And where is the missing money?
As events spiral out of control in this psychological thriller, Beth is drawn into a maelstrom of deceit, menace and madness, leading to violent death.
