Knights Of God (ITV 1987, Gareth Thomas, Patrick Troughton)

Knights of God Episode 4

Dystopian scifi teen drama serial Knights of God was set in the Year 2020, when Civil War has ripped apart Britain and the Royal family deposed with the King missing whereabouts unknown.

The plot focused on a pair of teenagers, Gervase (George Winter) and Julia (Claire Parker), who join a resistance movement that is determined to find the King and restore him to the throne. As the serial goes on, Gervase knows he has a destiny to fulfil. However, as son of Welsh resistance leader Owen (Gareth Thomas), he is taken captive by Prior Mordrin (John Woodvine), the leader of the Knights of God movement, who now runs the country. Gervase is brainwashed by Mordrin into finding the whereabouts of the King and killing him. All the time he and Julia must also keep their destiny in view. Finding the rightful king would destroy Mordrin and the Knights and bring peace to the country once again.
