Special Branch: Error of Judgement (ITV 21 Oct 1970, with Miranda Connell)

In Error of Judgement Jordan finds himself in trouble when he gets romantically involved with Angela Baillie, a woman who turns out to have ties to an organisation called The Guardians who are targeting a laboratory that is conducting germ warfare experiments.

Jordan had actually, quite literally run into Baillie, having pranged his car into hers and it is only later that he discovers her involvement with The Guardians. The group is already under surveillance by both Moxon and Inman, with WDC Simpson trying to find out more about them. Jordan finds himself reprimanded for not reporting the accident and in even more hot water when he loses his warrant card. It just so happens that Baillie has taken it and made copies so members of the group can gain access to the lab.

In the shake down it becomes obvious that one of the group, Colonel Harkstead, is a sleeper agent out to get info on the lab itself. Jordan was played for a fool by Baillie but she was played for a fool by Harkstead. Simpson is trying to work her way into the group.
