Magical Fantasy “The Portable Door” Now Streaming on Stan
Starring Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, No Time to Die), Sam Neill (Peter Rabbit, Jurassic Park trilogy), and Patrick Gibson (The OA, Tolkien), The Portable Door is a new fantasy film now streaming on Stan.
In The Portable Door, Patrick Gibson and Sophie Wilde play Paul Carpenter and Sophie Pettingel, two interns at the shadowy London firm J.W. Wells & Co. However, the two gradually realise that their employers are not what they appear to be.
Sophie Wilde (Eden on Stan, You Don’t Know Me), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings films), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Jessica De Gouw (The Secrets She Keeps, The Legend of Molly Johnson), Rachel House (Heartbreak High, Thor: Ragnarok), Arka Das (Shantaram, Lion), and Damon Herriman (Eden on Stan, The Tourist) are just some of the stars of the movie, which was filmed in Queensland.
The film is based on Tom Holt’s eponymous seven-book fantasy series and was adapted for the screen by Australian writer Leon Ford. It was directed by award-winning Australian filmmaker Jeffrey Walker (Ali’s Wedding, Stan Original Series The Commons).
A Jim Henson Company and Story Bridge Films production, The Portable Door is produced by Todd Fellman from Story Bridge Films (Daybreakers, Bait 3D) and Bianca Lista (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance). The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Chris Lytton are executive producing as well as Arclight Films’ Gary Hamilton, Brian Beckmann, and Ying Ye, alongside Julia Stuart and Laura Grange from Sky, and Stan’s Cailah Scobie and Shana Levine. Madman Entertainment will handle theatrical distribution.
